Quare

Quare, a reference to a term coined by E. Patrick Johnson describing the intersection of gender, race, and sexual performativity, is a deconstructed love story exploring what it means to exist outside of heteronormativity. The performance encompasses how we use intimacy to move through trauma, often causing transference that leads to interpersonal decomposition.

Quare originally premiered in a showcase produced by multidisciplinary artist collective, Spiderweb Salon. The piece was then accepted into the "Cosmic to Corporeal: Contemporary Queer Performance Practices" exhibition and performance series at The MAC.
